Whether you’re looking for a rich cultural experience, a unique afternoon to spend time with friends and family, or simply harbouring unusually specific cravings for masterfully brewed cups of Chinese tea, here are three teahouses that offer Chinese tea tasting. Head over with an open mind and curious tastebuds to enjoy tradition in a teacup!
Tian Fu Tea Room
Tian Fu Tea Room is an elegant, fully dedicated Chinese teahouse adjoined to the reputable Si Chuan Dou Hua restaurant. Immerse yourself in a tradition and open your mind to an elaborate selection of over 30 varieties of highest quality Chinese tea at their tea tasting sessions. By pairing each tea with different types of dim sum delicacies, their skilful Tea Connoisseurs will provide you with a smooth entry into the nuanced world of Chinese tea. They offer everything from better-known green and red tea to exotic types of yellow, white and flower tea so that tasters can learn about the different characteristics of each region’s tea.
Tea starts from 2.30pm and if you leave wanting more, check out their website for their occasional activities, workshops and cultural exhibitions.

Tea Chapter
Tea Chapter is perhaps Singapore’s best-known Chinese tea house. A mainstay in Singapore for over 30 years, it’s older than its young boss, Fund Lee (28), who decided to help his father run Tea Chapter after graduating from university.
At this teahouse, you can buy up to 40 varieties of Chinese tea but more than that, they are committed to the education of Chinese Tea Appreciation. Their well-trained staff host hour-long tea appreciation sessions and, for those who want to learn more, tea workshops. They offer two tea appreciation packages. “From Dusk till Dawn” features 2 of their Signature aromatic teas coupled with earthly “Imperial Pu’Er” while “Shades of Tea” features 6 types of teas. You’ll get to enjoy delicious cookies and traditional tea eggs at both sessions too!
Be sure to call ahead to reserve a truly authentic experience and an introduction to Chinese tea and its heritage!

Yixing Xuan Teahouse
Coffee drinkers, don’t be so quick to diss your tea-drinking friend – Vincent Low, former banker and founder of Yixing Xuan Teahouse, was all about coffee until Chinese tea whisked his heart away. Chinese tea seems to be this family’s kryptonite as daughter Charlene Low also quite the banking industry after 9 years to turn Yixing Xuan Teahouse into a father-daughter team.
Apart from selling teas, via tea appreciation workshops, this team helps customers uncover the joy of brewing and appreciating a delicate pot of tea. You’ll learn about various types of Chinese tea and its heritage, preparation and benefits. Enjoy a hands-on brewing experience and leave with a satisfied stomach from the dim sum served.
Unlike Tea Chapter and Tian Fu Tea Room, this cozy teahouse stocks both Chinese and Taiwanese teas in their collection of over 30 exceptional teas. They don’t just stick to tradition either – customers get the chance to decide whether they like their tea brewed with traditionally handcrafted tea sets or with simpler, modern tea infuser mugs. Book a workshop via their website for a unique experience!
