Darts have been one of the more popular options for friends to bond over recently. However, did you know that there are professional dart players who compete? Last Sunday, Just Darts Singapore organised their first-ever Count-up Challenge.
Operating since 2018, Just Darts is an upbeat and modern-day arcade that provides reasonable hourly rates from $6/hour for dart enthusiasts looking for a professional experience of the game. Hourly rates were introduced during their reopening back in July, a change from the usual $2/game style.
Easily accessible in The Centrepoint @ Somerset, it welcomes people of all ages with an open and family-friendly space. Besides just having fun with friends and family, small competitions, corporate events and tournaments can also be held there.
Five challengers competed against each other for the title of the first Sunday Count-up Challenge.
Shah Azhar, Sulaimi, Dixson, Ignatius Tan and Simon Liew
Emerging as the winner is Ignatius Tan. He walked away with a trophy, brand new Apple Airpods and complimentary 10hours of darts game.
Ignatius has been playing darts for the last seven years and he participates mostly in Dartslive events. His vision for the local darts scene is to be able to see more players in action after the pandemic passes. He advises new players to hone their basic skills as it is very important and to enjoy darts with local or overseas friends. We asked Ignatius what he liked about Just Darts and he said that this place has a good atmosphere to hang out in and has both claw machines and darts to switch around with.
To the other contestants, fret not as Just Darts hold mini competitions every once in awhile and you may very well be the next winner!
At the same time, they are currently having a promotion of $6/hr throughout the day for Phoenixdarts members until 30 October 2020.
